What House? Win for Huntsmere

Cheshire property development company, Huntsmere, has won a prestigious What House? Award for its property, Westfield, in Alderley Edge.

Chris Oakes of Huntsmere was on hand at the glittering awards ceremony, held in London recently (Sat 21 November), to collect the award in the hotly contested Best Luxury Home category. Westfield carried a price tag of £3.5 million and was in good company as the other two winners in the category were on the market at £20 million and £40 million respectively.

The expert panel of judges for the awards, who in the Best Luxury Home category were looking for a home ‘that is simply the best in every aspect, with no expense spared on quality and luxury, but at the same time, offering value for money, albeit in an exalted price range’, made special mention of the exterior of Westfield which they said is ‘stylish, but ageless’. The judges also praised Huntsmere for ‘its impressive reputation for turning buildings of architectural merit into some of the finest living and working spaces around’.

Commenting on the award, Chris said: “We are immensely proud to have received this award which bears testament to the attention to detail and pure luxury that we put in to each of our developments. Although our properties are packed with luxury features we never loose sight of the fact that we are creating family homes to be lived in.”

Westfield on Chapel Road, which sold earlier this year, is an original Alderley Edge Georgian villa which received a full makeover by the team at Huntsmere who worked closely with planners and architects to save the original façade behind which they created a new 6,800 square foot house.

Huntsmere are currently putting the finishing touches to Ravenswood, a £3.75 million, 8,000 square foot property in Prestbury and are working on three private commission properties for clients in the Alderley Edge area.
